The Independence Hall Tea Party Association was launched in May, 2009 after the success of Philadelphia Tea Party II held on Independence Mall as part of April’s National Tax Week Tea Parties.

Organizers from the region voted to name the Association after the building which housed the birth of the Nation in 1776 and the adoption of the Constitution in 1787.

Few realize, however, that on December 27, 1773, over 8,000 locals gathered for the first Tea Party ever held at Independence Hall (two weeks after the infamous Boston Tea Party).   It was the largest gathering of colonials up to that point in time.

Building on the success of the previous Independence Hall Tea Parties, Independence Hall
Tea Party III was held on July 4.  Thanks to the over 2500 citizens from the tri-state area who
made it a huge success!  (Check out pictures and videos at www.IndependenceHallTPA.com.)

Since then, our Association pressed the issue of limited government and lower taxes again.  On July 17, nearly 100 citizens rallied against Socialized Medicine outside Senator Casey’s office in downtown Philadelphia.

Our next target—Cap and Tax (please download the attached flyer).  This Tuesday (we apologize for the short notice), join us and Americans for Prosperity in a Seminar:
